Lexington Coal Exchange Takes A Stand

Parent Category: News

Members and Friends,

Please read the foreword below from the Lexington Coal Exchange President, Joe Stearman and related emails that follow.  The PNC article that initiated this action can be found at the bottom of this email.  The action the Lexington Coal Exchange Board of Directors has taken is to move our checking account from PNC to another bank.  It is a small thing but it makes a statement.  Together we can make a difference.

Shirley,

Please advise our membership of the action we have taken to change banks in an attempt to signal our protest of PNC’s stance against our industry. We must “Stand Up for American Coal Jobs” and remind PNC Bank that “Coal Powers America”. Also by forwarding this message to our membership ask them to do what they can to support our action and to likewise do whatever they can do individually and corporate wide to make their feelings known as well.

Thanks,

Joe

PS. Let Friends of Coal and FACES know what we’re doing and ask for their support.

Friends of Coal License Plates

Parent Category: News

The initial announcement of the West Virginia Friends of Coal license plate was sent to all Coal Bits recipients and the Friends of Coal data base last week and we have the beginning of our 250 initial applications being returned.  If you did not receive or misplaced your application, you can find it on either WVCA’s or FOC’s websites:  www.wvcoal.com or www.friendsofcoal.org.  Or contact our office and it can be e-mailed directly to you.  As per the instructions, the application MUST be completed in its entirety (every block completed) and returned to our office with a $70.00 check made payable to WV Coal Foundation.  The new WV license plate has been designed to look about the same as Kentucky’s, Virginia’s and Tennessee’s plate so the FOC will have a resounding presence on the highway.  Look forward to processing your application!

Friends of Coal License Plate

Parent Category: News

The WV Department of Motor Vehicles has released the West Virginia Friends of Coal license plate application, which is attached.  The design of the license will be just like the above with the exception of CS will change to FC.
Please review the instruction sheet and complete the application as instructed.

The application, along with a $70.00 check made payable to the WV Coal Foundation, must be MAILED back to our office (original signature is a must).

We must have the original application with signatures in order to submit to DMV. Once we have received 250 applications, we will send all of the applications and one check to the DMV, at that time they will contract to produce the WV FOC license plates.

So, the sooner you complete and return, the sooner the plates will be issued.  If you have any questions, please give us a call at 304.342.4153.
