West Virginia Coal Association Annual Symposium

The West Virginia Coal Association hosted its annual symposium, January 10-12 at the Charleston House Holiday Inn. MSHA Assistant Secretary Richard Stickler and OSM Acting Director Brent Walquist spoke on Thursday morning, Jan. 11, as well as West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin. For the 2006 operating year, twenty-five companies were recognized for excellence in mine safety and eighteen companies were recognized for excellence in mine reclamation at luncheons held on Thursday and Friday.
